    Was going to discount $99.99 from my account. I am sure this is a scam.

    Left message asking to press numbers for cancellation or refund, but no clue as to who they were and recorded message sounded unprofessional. It was also a public holiday so I decided it was a scammer.

    Called and left a recorded message to say I was going to be charged so many dollars. Then gave options by pressing 1 2 or 3. So I looked up the number on here and saw others had this same call. I also saw that one response said Amazon debt call, but I disagree as I don’t have an Amazon account and I don’t owe any debt to any online shopping. So I agree with the other posts. It’s a scam.

    As it was a unknown number I let it go to voicemail, they leave a shirt brief message to advise money will be taken from my account automatically if I don’t reply, then gave options press 1 for accept.2 to stop or 3 to talk to a operator - scam so blocked the number, go a call at the same time yesterday from another unknown number message was left in Chinese.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
