Based on user experiences, this number is classified as a scam due to its consistent attempts at deception.
Nature of the Scam
Callers operating through 03 7018 0629 / 0370180629 primarily attempt to mislead individuals by posing as technicians or bank representatives. On 30 May 2023, a user reported a call from someone claiming to be a Telstra technician, alleging issues with the caller's internet connection. However, this practice is typical of scammers looking to extract personal information.
Additional reports highlight a more alarming scenario where individuals received text messages from the same number, with callers claiming to be from CBA, insisting on verifying transactions. Phone call received and message left on my voicemail "hello.... hello?" the background noise indicated it was a foreign call centre.
Usual timeframe for scam calls, considering this is a rarely used number yet daily attracts several scam calls around this time. Noted through this media that this number has been searched numerous times recently so yes it’s a scam.
This was a scam call where a voice message claimed to be from Commonwealth Bank. I do not have any dealings with Commonwealth Bank, so I'm confident this is a scam.
The caller identified themselves as a technician, but I blocked this number immediately as it seemed suspicious.
I answered and they hung up.
Was phone by a foreign middle eastern sounding voice who claimed to be calling about an 1Phone order we had placed, which we hadn't.
Hung up on him as this was an obvious scam.
Something needs to be done about Symbio Networks. The proliferation of scam calls is ridiculous - I am getting several a day - and they’re all coming via Symbio Networks.
Spam.
Scam call! You can see the number changes to other number if you don’t pick up the call.
Just got the same call number. Scam! Don't pick up.
I had a call from this number who say they are from the CBA bank and that I have sent transactions wanted to know my account number. Asked me for my name. Did not ask any ID questions or say call was recorded. If this was call recorded. I know this was a scam call. When I asked where he was calling from he started yelling at me. I said if you were from the CBA, you would not be treating me this way. He then started yelling at me again. I ended the call.
The caller claimed to be a Telstra technician reporting issues with my internet connection. I'm unsure if this is a genuine call or part of a scam.
