    Received missed call from this number. When rang back, a recording done professionally about having a reference number. A guy answered claiming to be ATO and immediately asked for claim number. I replied I had no claim number and he asked for tax file number to which I hung up. Definitely a scam!

    Got a call about our super fund and claimed it was the ATO. They said there was a debt of $540 owing and it had been passed across to Dun and Bradstreet to follow up. Was asked if we could pay today. When pressed as to who I was speaking to, they said it was D&B. Then when asked what it was about, they went to "check" with another department then hung up. Definitely scam...

    Hi,

    I received a call from this number at 7pm last night.

    I didn't answer it but rang it back this morning and there was a taped recording, so I suspect it is spam.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
