Energy Savers Impersonation Reports for 03 6159 9409

Nine contributors have flagged calls from 03 6159 9409 (also written as 0361599409) for scam activity linked to an operation calling itself 'Energy Savers'. The pattern indicates a coordinated impersonation campaign operating from what appears to be an Indian call centre, using Australian phone numbers including this Tasmanian local service number to contact victims.

One detailed report about 0361599409 identifies the scam operation as claiming to operate from a virtual office at 1 Queens Rd, Melbourne. Multiple contributors describe receiving calls from the same scam ring using many different phone numbers daily, suggesting systematic operation with rotating contact numbers to evade blocking and Do Not Call register complaints.

What Callers from 03 6159 9409 Say and Do

Contributors report consistent characteristics across calls from 03 6159 9409. All callers have Indian accents, though most speak English clearly enough to conduct their pitch. When recipients call back to verify, they reach a call centre environment with loud background chatter and multiple staff members.

The scam involves energy deal pitches, with one contributor describing callers as 'phishing & selling energy deals' from 0361599409. When questioned or challenged, callers from 03 6159 9409 often hang up immediately rather than continue the conversation. Another report notes that calls frequently terminate when the recipient answers, leaving only background chatter from the call centre before the line goes silent or disconnects.

One contributor who called back to investigate received responses from multiple people at the call centre behind 0361599409, including a woman and a man, both difficult to understand despite the initial clear English-speaking callers.

Call Patterns and Frequency

The scam operation using 03 6159 9409 appears highly active and persistent. One contributor reports being contacted multiple times daily, with the operation cycling through different phone numbers to avoid detection. This pattern suggests the ring maintains a list of targeted numbers and contacts them repeatedly despite Do Not Call register protections.

Contributors describe receiving silent calls from 0361599409 where background noise indicates a live call centre environment rather than an automated system. The timing and frequency suggest coordinated outbound dialling from a shared call centre, with staff rotating between callers, silent calls, and hang-ups depending on response.

Reports span from late September through November 2025, indicating sustained operation of this 03 6159 9409 scam ring over several weeks. One contributor notes they have made numerous formal complaints to both ACMA and the ACCC without observable action against the number or operation to date.

Scammers from a dodgy company they say is called Energy Savers which is using a virtual office at 1 Queens Rd Melbourne as it's alleged address. Calls multiple times a day using many different phone numbers from what appears to be an Indian scam call centre. They clearly have no respect for the Do Not Call register or Australian laws. All callers have Indian accents though speak quite good English. The business has many complaints and bad reviews which indicates it's a scam. I've made numerous complaints to ACMA and the ACCC but nothing seems to be done about them to date.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 03 6159 9409 a legitimate energy provider?

No. Multiple contributors confirm 03 6159 9409 is used by a scam operation falsely claiming to be 'Energy Savers'. The operation uses a virtual office address in Melbourne and operates from an Indian call centre. Legitimate energy providers do not use high-pressure tactics, call repeatedly despite being asked to stop, or hang up when questioned. If you receive an energy offer from 0361599409, hang up and contact your actual energy provider directly using the number on your bill.

Why do callers from 0361599409 hang up when I answer?

Contributors report two patterns from 03 6159 9409: some callers disconnect immediately after you answer (silent call tactic), while others try to pitch energy deals but hang up when challenged or asked verification questions. The silent calls likely test whether your number is active before passing it to pitch callers. The hang-ups when questioned suggest the operation is aware the calls are likely to be reported and avoids extended conversations that could be recorded.

Should I call back 03 6159 9409 to tell them to stop?

No. One contributor who called back 0361599409 reached the call centre directly, confirming it is actively staffed and monitored. Calling back confirms your number is active and monitored, likely adding you to priority contact lists. Calling back also risks being caught in a social engineering attack where you're transferred or asked to provide information under false pretences. Instead, block the number and report it to ACMA at lodgement.acma.gov.au.

Are all callers from 03 6159 9409 using the same physical location?

All calls attributed to 0361599409 appear to originate from the same operation based in an Indian call centre, as confirmed by multiple contributors noting Indian accents, loud background chatter from multiple staff, and coordinated tactics. The operation cycles through different phone numbers daily (not just 03 6159 9409) to evade blocking. The alleged business address is listed as 1 Queens Rd, Melbourne, but this is a virtual office used for legitimacy purposes only.

What should I do if I already gave personal information to someone claiming to call from 03 6159 9409?

Contact your energy provider immediately and advise them you may have given your details to a scammer. Monitor your energy bills for unauthorized changes to account details or supply arrangements. If you disclosed financial information (bank details, card numbers), contact your bank immediately. Report the incident to Scamwatch (scamwatch.gov.au) and file a police report via your local police station or online at cyber.gov.au. Document all communications with 0361599409 for the report.

How many times have people been contacted by 03 6159 9409?

Multiple contributors describe receiving calls from 0361599409 repeatedly, with one reporting multiple calls per day. The operation has been active since at least late September 2025 and continues through November, indicating sustained and persistent contact attempts. Despite complaints to ACMA and the ACCC, the number 03 6159 9409 remains in active use. This persistence is typical of offshore scam operations that rotate phone numbers and accept high complaint rates as a cost of business.
