After reading other reports, seems associated with scammers
Claimed to be Commonwealth Bank verifying debit around thousand dollars, I told them I don't have CommBank account and called them out, they thanked me and hung up
Scam call. Knew my name, and tried telling me that my identity was being misused to buy an iPhone and I needed to give them my details so they could protect me. No identification of who they were, just launched straight into trying to scare me. Said it was a local number, but clearly calling from overseas.
Scammers. As the number calling was showing as a local number I thought it ok to answer, even though I didn't recognise it. Complete scam. Got a recorded message saying they were calling from Visa re a couple of recent transactions, one of which was a foreign transfer of over a thousand dollars. I hung up. Obviously trying to scare people into talking to them, the scumbags.
