Report Patterns and Timing

One contributor received two short code text messages before receiving the call from 03 6121 7153, indicating a potential multi-channel approach. The scam report from January 2026 explicitly describes the caller as a dodgy scammer using automated voice tactics.

The allocation data indicates this is a local service number in Tasmania operated by Symbio Networks, though the legitimacy remains contested across contributor reports. The presence of both scam and suspicious categorisations alongside one uncertain report suggests either spoofed caller identification or conflicting use of the same number.

This number is legit, it is not a scam, you may have gotten this by mistake, which is why you would think it's fishy, an incorrect phone number may have been used which would be yours by the original user, it is from My Opinions Survey, a recording of 6 digit code, used to redeem on the My Opinions website which is also legit, useless to anyone else except the original user, so if you don't know anything about it, then it is not for you, just simply ignore it, and delete any calls or messages if you wish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 03 6121 7153 really from My Opinions Survey?

One contributor claims 0361217153 is associated with My Opinions Survey and delivers 6-digit redemption codes via automated recording. However, this conflicts with reports describing phishing-style requests for verification codes and callback requests. If you believe a call is from My Opinions Survey, hang up and contact the survey company directly using a phone number from their official website rather than responding to prompts from 03 6121 7153.

Why is an automated voice asking me to press 6 on 03 6121 7153?

One contributor reported receiving an automated voice requesting digit entry (pressing 6) for a supposed verification code when they were not attempting to log into anything. This is a red flag for phishing attempts. Do not press any buttons or provide any codes when 0361217153 calls. Hang up and contact any organisation directly using a verified number if you're concerned about account security.

Should I call back if 03 6121 7153 asks me to?

No. A contributor reported being asked to press 5 and instructed to call back later by 03 6121 7153. Callback request tactics are commonly used in phishing scams. Do not call back this number. If an organisation needs to contact you, they will reach you directly through verified channels.

What does it mean if I received SMS messages before the call from 03 6121 7153?

One contributor received two short code text messages followed by a call from 0361217153, which they found suspicious. This multi-channel approach (SMS then call) is a common phishing tactic to make attempts seem more legitimate. Do not respond to or click links in any messages, and report both the SMS and call to your provider and ACMA.

Can I trust this number because it's a local Tasmania service?

The allocation data shows 03 6121 7153 is registered as a local service in Tasmania through Symbio Networks, but this does not guarantee legitimacy. Scammers frequently spoof or misuse legitimate phone numbers and service allocations. Always verify any organisation independently by calling them directly using a phone number from their official website, not by responding to calls from 0361217153.

What should I do if 03 6121 7153 keeps calling me?

Block the number on your device to prevent further contact from 0361217153. If the calls continue after blocking, report the repeated contact to ACMA at acma.gov.au and to your phone provider. You can also report the number on Reverseau to help other contributors. Do not engage with the call, press any buttons, or provide information.
