03 6107 9624: Scam Alert - Persistently Harassing Calls

Annoying spam.

Just three minutes before answering a call from (03) 6107 9624, I had a silent call from the number 0485 825 721 which hung up immediately. As I was unfamiliar with an organization called SVT Group, I decided to block that number to avoid future disturbances.

I received a call from someone with an Indian name who got frustrated when I referred to him as a scammer. The way he reacted made me believe this was a fraudulent call.

I answered a call but was met with silence for 11 seconds before they disconnected. I tried to send a text in response, but it could not be delivered. I chose not to call back.

I answered the call and asked, "May I ask who's calling?" The person on the other end identified himself as "Mark, from an energy company." I found this suspicious and decided to thank him for his time, then hung up and blocked the number immediately. I believe this was a scam attempt.

After I blocked a call from Jnr Designs on 12 July, I've been receiving calls from Kato Cars that follow a similar tactic—they ring three times and then hang up. The listing for Jnr Designs in Shepparton, VIC has now been removed from search engines. I advise others to continue blocking these callers, as they are likely to change their numbers frequently. It's about time that Telstra takes action and Scam Watch addresses this issue!

These are definitely scammers; it's best to block these types of calls and not engage with them!

7 ghost calls from this number in three days. Every single time I pick up, I mute and they put down. (They) assuming it’s a person otherwise possibly automated to calculate whether there is someone on the other side first. Watch, Pierogi on YouTube - you’ll be blown away what these scammers are doing to Aus and the US!

Had the same call threatening ATO etc as per other callers plus another call (female) saying roughly same thing but giving phone no as 02 6100 8557 which isn't connected. Just out of interest did any of you have a call from one of those companies telling you that your computer had a problem a few days before the supposed ATO call and tell them to get lost in (strong) language? I did and the guy got pretty pissed off so wondered if there was a connection. If you look up the CDPP nos they aren't anything like the quoted Nos.

Jason Oçonnor'from ATO rang and threatened me with police arrest for Tax Evasion. Spoke to my Tax agent and was advised that ATO never calls people, instead they send letters to you whatever the matter. ATO NEVER rings you. It was a scam.

I also received a call from the number 03 6107 9624 from a Jason O'Connor from the ATO, stating I am going to be arrested for tax evasion. I received this call 27/11/2015 at 10-ish today.

Just had a message on answer machine Jason O'Connor from ATO - warrant for my arrest been issued. However he did not say my name - SCAM artist 2nd one I have had - Officer Roy Cates American was the last, about time somebody done something about these clowns, my 80 year mother-in-law had one and it scared the hell out of her.

Also got a phone call from this number claiming that we are in trouble with the ATO and to call back to fix it before the court order is delivered to us by the police. Caller introduced himself as Jason O'Connor. He left the message on our answering machine. Knew it was a fraud as had a similar experience before.

Received a call from these morons today also claiming they are ATO. Didn't answer but let it go to the answering machine.

Got told to call back the ATO on this number his name was Jason O Connor and he rang from 0730187514. Scam.

I received a message from this number claiming to be someone from the ATO and that there was a warrant at the Supreme Court. Have had previous calls with this message but first time I have recorded the number. I am aware this is a scam. The message sounded like a recorded computer voice.

I received a voicemail message on my home phone stating I was being investigated for tax evasion. The caller (Jason) left this number for me to call back. It doesn't connect.
