What Our Users Reviewed
Call from "National Broadband Network Technician" advising that our National Broadband Network link is unstable and needs something done. I asked questions about what can be done but he only knew to ask if the lights on the modem were blue, yellow or green. When asked what they were going to do about it he went back to a rote answer that he had previously given. Took him through that about 3 times.
He said he was from National Broadband Network in Exhibition Street, Melbourne. Very Indian voice.
When challenged that THIS IS A SCAM he hung up.
Just received call from "National Broadband Network Technician" stating that his junior was going to be at our place at 2 pm - 1 1/2 hr time to check out National Broadband Network service as it has a problem.
Scam.
Scam from "Visa and Mastercard" saying I did an international transaction recently to someone (he said the name, but I didn't remember) in NZ. He'd like to confirm if I did that. I said "NO". Then he asked if I was the only person handling my banking matter... But in the middle of his sentence, he silence (because I didn't response) then hung up.
Incoming call to my mobile 8/8/23 from Ph# 0359533126 - Male caller, claiming to be from Telstra, calling stating I have malware effecting my wifi connection, and wanting me to punch in his instructions to me web browser. (errrrm, nope!!!, not for me thanks). When I refused to enter anything in to my laptop browser (wk laptop), he said to type it in to my smartphone. He said to go AppStore and search for "AnyDesk" app - I didn't open it. Sounded like a virtual-remote access app... Probably used by hackers to access our devices. When I refused or asked questions he became frustrated. I hung up.
