BEWARE!
Yes definitely a scam. She said that they are getting "error" signals from our router and that they need to chech it out. They said that if there is a problem, they'll send a tech person out to swap it over. I asked where she was calling from and she said Telstra. She gave me a contact number that was different from the one she called from and when I asked her her name, and with a very heavy Indian accent she said her name was Jo Smith. I said that I'll call Telstra myself and hung up. Telstra said it was bogus and to let them know if they call again.
Caller silent... Having a mental episode ????
Providers like Telstra can trace it to owner ??
Caller claimed to be from Telstra, and that my router's "security certificate" was about to expire. Caller could not tell me where he was calling from, or where he got my phone number from. Caller asked if I could connect to my router and make appropriate to update its security certificate. I kept him on the line for 15 minutes, and he eventually hung up.
Called for a second time - still no one on the other end.
