    I received a text message from Dun and Bradstreet and then the next day a call from 03 5489 2607 but wasn't near my phone at the time. Dun and Bradstreet are a very thuggish company so never communicate with them except by email so you can keep the evidence.

    Received several missed calls with no message. Called back and they alleged they were from Dun and Bradstreet regarding an "outstanding matter" They wanted to know my full name and other personal details so they could "verify". I asked to know who their client was, as I was unaware of any "outstanding matters". They refused to provide any information. I advised they should send mail to my postal address if they wished to correspond with me.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
