Just got a call from this number, and they advised they were the tax office and that claims were being filed against me, and started asking for details. I assume that I would be contacted in a more official manner if that was the case and asked them to provide their details, which they couldn't do.
Claiming to be the Australian Taxation Office, with a heavy Indian accent. They called my client and stated that he owed over 3k (has only been working 1 month since coming to Aus.) When I stated "does not sound like the ATO" they hung up.
Apparently this call wants to issue an arrest warrant if you don't call back or do what they tell you to. Come and catch me you scum bag. More like you will get arrested in a matter of time.
