    Not sure on the company name because it was an Indian caller who obviously though he could speak english. Could not understand very much of what he said. Basically it was allegedly related to a government solar panel rebate scheme as he said but the company name sounded like Cold Power. I repeated it back to him and he said yes that is correct. I hung up on him.

    Called from a call centre. Asked if speaking to (gave a name but not clearly), I asked her to repeat the name twice, she hung up.

    Tried call back - nothing, no ring tone, just silence so obviously some scammer.

    Obviously a scam call, woman in call centre asking to speak to a person that she named but not clearly. After my repeated requests to pronounce the name of the person she wanted to speak to, she hung up. I tried calling back, no tone at all. So obviously some type of scammer.

    Called in the afternoon, didn't leave a message - my phone records the call as from Newtown (suburb of Geelong), Victoria.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
