Got a call from Jeffery Watson who claim to be from some ATO tax collection agency. He said that the ATO was taking legal action against me and that I should contact him pronto. When I called back they claimed that my number was not listed and they hung up.

Plus Australians don't use the word "headquarters" unless you have watched too many spy movies.
ATO scam re fraud charges from a Richard Johnson. Very elaborate spiel that I didn't pick up on until I was told I could pay supposed debt within 2 hrs. Western Union transfer was an option he gave me. Knew enough about me to have me fooled for a while. Hung up after telling him I'd called ATO general enquiries to have this verified. Called ATO to be told this is a SCAM.
Man called my mother scaring her into thinking it was the ATO. Reported it to the police and they said they could not do anything about it. Be care not to give this person your details.

On speaking with my accountants they have called the number and had a further conversation, with all details now passed onto the real Australian tax dept and the federal police.
