Then a message with a code through a WhatsApp number came through (I generally answer my phone on speaker, so saw the message alert) Alex said if you have received a message with a six digit code, you are who we need to speak to about this to ensure we refund you. I don’t use PayPal so knew this to be false and said “look, I’m in a busy public place, can I just go to a private place and call you back on this number in a couple of minutes?” He got extremely aggressive and started yelling at me saying stuff like “if you want me to refund you, you will talk to me now” I said “I just don’t want people hearing me give out my details, I will call you back” I know full well this was a scam and scammers don’t like call backs as generally the number they call from cannot be called back. He screamed “fine! I will do the refund but I will keep the $600” I said “you do that” and hung up and blocked.

0468 249 904 - I am expecting a call so answered this number. I said hello. Got silence for a few seconds, then it hung up on me. I then got a second call from this number shortly after the hang up. This time I could hear noisy call centre chatter in the background. Then a woman with indian accent said “hi this is Weesa, how are you today?” I asked “who are you? Where are you calling from?” She said “it’s Weesa … L I S A…. What health fund do you have and who is it with?” Like straight out of the starting gate - no pleasantries or anything like that. I asked her why she called and hung up just before. She said “it wasn’t me” I am in no mood to entertain spammers or scammers today so just hung up and blocked the number.
