The callers often use automated messages claiming that your broadband connection is at risk of being disconnected due to alleged third-party access to your IP address.

What to Expect When Receiving Calls from This Number

According to user reports, the call generally begins with an alarming message suggesting that your NBN service will be cut off unless you connect with an operator. This tactic is designed to instil fear and prompt you to provide sensitive information under the guise of preventing cyber crime.

Why 03 5134 2024 / 0351342024 Is Classified as a Scam

There are several compelling reasons this number has been categorised as a scam:

  • No Response on Call Back: Users attempting to return the call find that it has been disconnected, confirming its illegitimacy.
  • Circumventing Official Communications: Genuine service outages or important updates are usually communicated through official channels rather than unsolicited calls.

How to Handle Calls from 03 5134 2024

If you receive a call from this number, it is crucial not to engage further. Do not provide any personal or financial information. Here are steps you can take if you encounter this scam:

  • Utilise Reverseau: To gather more information about unknown numbers, consider using Reverseau for a reverse phone lookup in Australia.

Staying informed is your best defense against these types of scams. Legitimate services will reach out through verified channels, not through worry-inducing phone calls. Trust your instincts, and when in doubt, take proactive measures to verify the identity of any caller.

In conclusion, steer clear of 03 5134 2024 / 0351342024 and others like it to protect your personal information and avoid falling victim to cyber crime.

3rd day in a row that number has phoned with an automated message stating my National Broadband Network is going to be cut off due to 3rd party access to my IP address, and that I need to be put through to their operator so as to not become a victim of cyber crime... Try to call the number back and it says 'Optus advises this number has been disconnect' obviously a scam!
