  • One user reported a call claiming to be from the Chinese Embassy, which was suspicious given the context and language used.
  • Another caller described the situation where the alleged Telstra representative had a strong South East Asian accent, coupled with background noise that suggested it was not a professional call centre environment.
  • A recorded message in Chinese further substantiated claims by multiple users that the number is indeed linked to a scam operation.

Why It's Classified as a Scam

The reasons this number is categorised as a scam are clear:

  • Impersonation: Callers are using familiar institution names to build misleading trust.

Said they were from Telstra but caller with Sth East Asian Accent with a lot of background noise of other callers so did not sound like Telstar Billing as they said, and when I asked who they were calling they just kept saying "you" and not our business name of my name as account manager. So scammers.
