This article aims to highlight the evidence leading to this classification and provide advice on dealing with similar calls.

User Reports and Scam Classification

Several reports have emerged regarding this number, particularly noting its claims of impending service disconnection from Vodafone, a company many Australians rely on for telecommunications. On 29 May 2024, a user reported receiving a call from someone claiming to be from Vodafone, asserting that their service would be interrupted despite the individual not holding any account with the provider. Particularly alarming, one user experienced a scripted response indicating the call originated from the Federal Government, pushing them to press different numbers based on language preference. This tactic is often employed by scammers to intimidate and confuse potential victims into providing personal details or financial information.

How to Handle Calls from 03 4336 6738

If you receive a call from 03 4336 6738, consider the following steps:

  • Do Not Engage: Hang up immediately. Engaging with the caller can often lead to more intrusive tactics or phone calls.

  • Report the Call: Inform relevant authorities about the scam. Reporting numbers can help protect others from falling victim.
  • Utilise Reverse Phone Lookup Services: Platforms like Reverseau can assist you in identifying unknown callers and adding layers of security to your phone communications.

I answered a robocall where the caller claimed to be from the Australian Government. They prompted me to select options on my keypad, but the call quickly transitioned into Chinese before it disconnected. I didn't respond further, and I have since blocked and reported the number.

Says service gonna disconnect in 2 hours, but my service is not Vodafone. So I choose the Chinese operator option and have a little fun with them, they got mad and asked me to get lost and cut the line.
