    Had a call from a woman on this number saying she was from the ABS and wanted to ask 5 questions. Got scammy vibes, didn't answer her questions and she hung up. Confirmed with the ABS that this wasn't them calling as they'll send a letter first.

    Just got a call from this number. He claimed he was from the council, in which I live. I asked why someone from my council would be ringing me from more than 100kms away. He got angry and I hung up.

    I received a call this morning and just let it ring as I screen all calls I don't know. Decided to see if anyone had the same call by checking it out on here.

    Answered a call and the person immediately started to grunt like a pig. And when I asked what they wanted they squealed like a piglet down the phone. Time wasting.

    Just got a call from this number and a garbled message was left. Sounds like it may have been an accidental dial but I didn't recognise the number.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
