I received a call from this number... Initially, I disregarded the call I didn't recognise the number. I then received a text message saying that there is a lawsuit against me for not paying taxes.... So I called the number back and the guy's name is "Peter"proceeded to advise me that I have $990 of unpaid fines and I will be taken to court due to a random Audit recently actioned on 4/5/2017 (such specific detail!) and then once I ended the call with "this is a SCAM"...before he hung up he said:
OK! You will be getting a visit from the police! And hung up.... THIS IS A SCAM!!
Yep. Tax fraud scam call left on Voicemail. Threat to take you to District Court (no such thing in Aus), don't ignore this call etc.

Received a call with a VM left to say I had a complaint against me regarding tax evasion. I rung back and the guy asked for my name and phone number. Then he hung up on me. I rung back and he was so rude, hung up on me again.

I've just spoken directly with ATO when I was directed to their scam number. This is definitely a scam and they have these punks phone number and all the details.
Man claiming to be from ATO did not declare who he was trying to contact or his name just that he was from the ATO and that there was a complaint of tax evasion/fraud. Told me to call back and not to disregard the message as it would result in commonwealth court actions. I plan to call the ATO direct and ask them about it.
