Identifying the Nature of Calls from 03 4309 4080

The phone number 03 4309 4080 has attracted considerable attention due to user reports suggesting it's a potential scam. Most notably, the number has been associated with a telemarketer using heavy persuasion tactics under the guise of providing healthcare advice. As of 26 June 2023, a report noted a caller with an Indian accent, identified as "Samuel," who claimed to be a 'senior naturopath' affiliated with a fictitious entity named 'Seniors & Pensioners Health Care.'

Understanding the Scam

This particular situation rings alarm bells as it reflects classic telemarketing scam strategies. The caller engaged the person directly by name and revealed their suburb, raising immediate concerns regarding privacy infringement. Such tactics are often employed to create a false sense of trust, making the receiver more susceptible to manipulation.

  • Alleged Medical Products: The caller attempted to interest the recipient in ostensibly beneficial medications targeting common ailments such as arthritis and diabetes.
  • Payment Methods: A red flag was raised as the caller suggested various payment methods, including credit card and PayPal, which are typically preferable for those with malicious intent.
  • Area Code Confusion: The use of a NSW area code (03) whilst claiming to be local raises further suspicion on the legitimacy of the caller.

Dealing with Suspicious Calls

If you receive a call from 03 4309 4080, here are recommended steps to ensure your personal information remains protected:

  • Do not engage with the caller, especially when they attempt to gather personal or financial information.
  • Hang up immediately if you feel uncomfortable or suspect deceit.

Male voice, Indian accent. Usual delay after I answered. Said his name was Samuel and was the 'senior naturopath' from Seniors & Pensioners Health Care and claimed to be from NSW (with an '03' area code???). Called me by name and knew my suburb. Tried to interest me in medications for arthritis and diabetes. Would accept payment by credit card or even PayPal. Watch out for this scammer.

I spoke with a man with an Indian accent who introduced himself as Samuel, claiming to be a ‘senior naturopath’ from Seniors & Pensioners Health Care, referring to himself as being based in NSW (a discrepancy since his area code was '03'). He addressed me by name and seemed to know my suburb. He tried to sell me medications for arthritis and diabetes and mentioned he'd accept payment via credit card or PayPal. I believe this is a scam; please be cautious.
