This number flashed as spam on my phone, so I decided to ignore it. Thank goodness I did, after stumbling across all the other scam stories here!

A lady claiming to be from the "Australian Cyber Security Centre" called me up. As soon as I mentioned how great I was doing, she vanished like a magician! Really suspicious vibes, wouldn’t trust that one.

I'm in WA, received this VIC (03) 4026 0401 call, and since I don't know anyone in VIC or have any business dealings with VIC, I figured it a scam call and didn't answer - especially as my phone showed the number in red, to warn of a potential scammer. The caller didn't leave a voice message, of course. And I certainly didn't call them back. Typical scammer behaviour - hangs up, hoping you'd be curious enough to call them back. (A 'wangiri' scam.) This scam likely tricks victims into calling back at a premium rate number, then tries to get you to stay on the line, resulting in high phone charges to you, which they collect part proceeds from. Beware.

So I got this call from someone pretending to be from the Commonwealth Bank. They claimed my account was involved in Bitcoin dealings but wouldn’t give me any info unless I provided my details. Sounds rather dodgy to me, doesn't it?"

Picked up a call from Swan Hill, right? Some bloke claimed to be from Visa/Mastercard and suddenly hit me with news about a $900 charge on my nonexistent card. I told him to jog on, and he just hung up. Classic!

They claimed to be from Commonwealth Bank, saying they needed to cancel some transaction. Seems a bit sus to me.
