I received a call from this number after rejecting their calls several times. Eventually, I answered, and the caller, who claimed to know my name, mentioned it was about a security issue. However, I do not have an account with Commbank.
I received multiple calls from this number. I answered once and spoke with a man who had an Indian accent. He claimed to be from the security department of Commonwealth Bank, stating they detected 11 suspicious transactions on my credit card and needed to verify them. After checking, I confirmed that there were no foreign transactions on my card. I hung up, but they continued to call back around 10 times after that, and I chose not to answer.
I have been receiving repeated calls from this number every few days, and they never leave a message. The absence of a message makes me doubt its legitimacy. Although this number is associated with Commonwealth Bank, it seems to be spoofed, and I have verified that all my accounts are secure with no alerts from Commonwealth Bank.
I just received a scam call from this number. I called CommBank to confirm and are apparently looking into it.
This is a scam! While Commonwealth Bank has call centers in Australia, which typically do not employ foreign call centers, this call used phone spoofing to make it look like it was from the bank. Ignore it and avoid giving any personal information.
An individual with an Indian accent called my mobile, claiming to be from my bank's security department. He mentioned there were two suspicious transactions on my credit card and offered to help void them. Then, he said he would transfer me to his supervisor, but I hung up out of caution.
Multiple consecutive calls came from this number. Since I don't have an account with CommBank, I suspect this number has been spoofed and is likely being used by a scammer. I have now blocked it due to the nuisance it caused.
I can confirm this number is legitimate. I spent over an hour on the line with my bank resolving a Mastercard issue. While some may be spoofing this number, the one I called is valid.
A man called me from a Sydney number claiming to be from Commonwealth Bank (Comm Bank). He mentioned that I had made a fraudulent payment to Telstra, which I did not authorize. What concerns me is that he knew my full name and the suburb where I live, despite the fact that I am neither a Comm Bank customer nor a Telstra user. Beware of this caller!
I received a call that I identified as a scam. The caller initially claimed to be from the Commonwealth Bank's security team but later referenced Westpac while trying to confirm my security information.
My advice is to simply block this number as it is clearly a scam.
This number has been repeatedly calling my mobile multiple times a day. I choose not to answer, as I believe if the Commonwealth Bank wanted to contact me, they would leave a message. I’m becoming fed up with this constant disturbance and may block the number soon.
The caller claimed to be from the Commonwealth Bank's fraud department, stating that staff members were involved in fraudulent activity on my account and needed to address it urgently. I informed him that I do not, and have never had, an account with Commonwealth Bank. I believe this is spam.
I received a call from this number, but the caller referred to a different name and mentioned something about CommBank. It seemed suspicious and unclear.
I received three calls from this number within five minutes, and they did not leave a voicemail. After I hung up, I immediately received another call from a different number (0421 132 221), which I suspect is connected to this potential scam.
Although I initially suspected this number might be a scam, it turned out to be a legitimate call from a Commonwealth Bank security representative alerting me about an unauthorized credit card purchase. I verified my account and confirmed the transaction was indeed occurring.
216576: The person on the phone claimed to be from the Commonwealth Bank's fraud department, wanting to verify two credit card purchases I supposedly made this morning. Since I had not made any purchases, I found the situation odd and refused to confirm any personal information about my accounts, ultimately hanging up to protect myself.
This number called me and pretended to represent the Commonwealth Bank's fraud department. They were very convincing, but I got disconnected. When I called Commonwealth Bank using their official number, I learned that it was a phishing scam.
The caller claimed to be from NBN, warning that my internet was being hacked. They guided me through steps to block the hackers but first asked me to install the AnyDesk app, which would allow them to remotely access my phone or computer while we were on the line. I strongly warn against falling for this scam!
Called asking for my pin. Hung up as soon as I asked for proof tha they were from commonwealth.
It was mentioned in mails to me from Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Many written errors, no logo, from employees with only first name. Probably does this number link to scammers who will try to get your PIN or personal information. Be careful!
Another scam.
