After about 20 phone calls from these people I led them on a 45 minute chat which I eventualy hung up on them. They did ring back a coupke of days latter and said they were from Telstra and my computer was infecting their server and if they cant access my computer they will shut diwn my internet. Just tell them to get f###ed.
Got a call from this number today.... They have changed tactics now claiming they are from Microsoft about an "infection" in my computer.

Curry Munchers trying to scam me by wanting access to my computer, claimed they are from a "Telstra" call centre.
An old old trick now...........!!
Had a call from 0299356871.
Their was lots of chatter in the background that indicated it was a very busy call centre.
Female with an Asian accent said she was from Telstra Technical Department and my internet connection had been detected as originating spam and would I "Please turn on your internet device and you will be told how to stop this occurring etc...etc....".
She said she was calling from Telstra in MELBOURNE but the number is obviously a SYDNEY number.
I am in ADELAIDE.
I am NOT a Telstra customer.
With a view to wasting her time as much as she was wasting mine, I strung her along saying I didn't believe her and asking her what her computer screen told her to say when people didn't believe her.
She eventually hung up.
Had 3 calls already today - when I pick up the phone there is no-one there.
Another telstra support scam, running a bit old now.
Same crap. Scammers pretending to be Telstra. I've learnt rude words in Indian to annoy them lol.

02 9935 6871 has called three times in the past three hours. I am in QLD and do not know many 02 telephone numbers so looked this one up. Glad I did - thank you all who have posted... Will let them run their phone bill up calling the answering machine :).

We got a call from a guy saying he was from Telstra IT Dept. The caller ID on our phone showed he called from 02 9935 6871. He asked a few questions about our Internet connection and he sounded dodgy. I asked for his name and a return contact number so I could return his call. He said he was Jack William, employee number J9426, and his number was 02 8091 5456. He said he was located at 215 Miller Street, North Sydney 2060. I didn't return the call but he called me again after 5 mins. I terminated the call. Coincidentally, our Telstra National Broadband Network did go off air shortly afterwards. I called Telstra and got sorted. They kindly ran a check on the employee ID number and, not surprisingly, confirmed that it did not exist. This is definitely a scam.

Have received calls from this number saying they are from Telstra, calling about internet connection - scam number. Suppossdly on do not call list and have out telecommunications company blocking these calls, but some scrape through :/.
Ditto as above - it's a SCAM.
These people told me they are from Telstra and calling me about my internet connection. I'm not with Telstra for internet but they wanted to argue the point saying Telstra own all internet services. I terminated the call, attempted to call back the number displayed and it is not a valid number.
