What Are Users Reporting?
In early October 2016, a user described an interaction where a woman offered assistance with a Government Incentive Scheme, ostensibly aimed at individuals approaching retirement. The conversation included questions about household income, employment plans, and personal details, albeit not as invasive as birth dates or addresses. However, the odd request for a postcode coupled with the caller's inability to be reached upon calling back (the number was found to be disconnected) raised significant red flags.
Identifying the Scam
This scam fits a recognised pattern wherein callers pose as representatives of government programs, soliciting personal and financial information under the guise of providing financial support or benefits. The information requested, such as income details and employment stability, suggests an ulterior motive of enabling identity theft through falsified loans or financial processes.

What Our Users Reviewed
Sounds completely dodgy, have complained to the ATO.
A woman called from this number offering a Government Incentive Scheme to help people moving towards retirement. All sounded above board but I rang the number back and it is disconnected... Very strange. information she asked pertained to household income, husbands name, were we both under 50 and would be working for the next 5 years at least. Had we done our tax for the past 2 years. No actual info like DOB or addresses but did ask for a postcode and said we would get a call back. Pretty sure this is a scam and from the info required sounds like its by people applying for loans in your name. I will investigate further.
