Coped this same call today. Claiming I had an accident also, I new what was going on so I played along with them for about 1hr. Someone needs to trace this back and identify these crooks.
Answered this call and heard background noise and a pause before someone spoke. Faint indian accent saying 'how are you today' then started on about someone fom my phone number mad an accident claim recently or last year, to which I replied WHAT! An then hung up.... Of course if ou ring the number back its engaged.... Beware these scammers.

This s.o.b calls saying his name is tony Anderson (could have said it was Bruce willis) because he sounded hing-lish, talking about me having a car accident. I asked him to name the person who told him that and where he was calling from, so he starts to argue. I gave him the ****###********, his mother will remember, and he hung up.

Got a call from a lady with a strong Indian accent saying someone with my number had had an accident. I actually did have a very minor accident recently but never had I disclosed my home number so I immediately knew it was a scam. I asked her whom she was after and she hung up.

Yeh just got a call from a man with a strong Asian accent! Absolute scammers! If any of you get a call tell them you just have to get your computer. Leave them on the line for 30 minutes or so and then go back and say sorry I couldn't find it and hang up!

WHAT TO DO- Find out your local police stations number and address, pretend you can not talk about the accident now but to please call me at work tomorrow on the (The local police stations number).
Even better if you get them to ask for a specific person, an officer.

Asian man called me and said I had a car accident that wasn't my fault and did I have a lawyer. Said something about NRMA but didn't make sense. Told him he had wrong number and he hung up. I had an accident last year that was my fault and dealt with by NRMA. He is obviously using some kind of data to pick-up numbers.
