Totally agree and collectively we need to complain to Ombudsmen and telecommunications ministers about this selling off of Australian land line numbers to criminals who are committing mass fraud on the most vulnerable Australians.
The most vulnerable of Australia's society are being targeted through land lines by these criminal organisations who are able to use TELSTRA numbers. TELSTRA as an Australian company you DO HAVE RESPONSIBILITIES to protect your Australian clients who pay for land lines and get scammed by YOUR NUMBERS. There must be a government audit and investigation into how TELSTRA keeps selling the rights of these landline numbers to scammers and do not follow up to tighten security and go after these criminals. I do not want to hear anymore that TELSTRA has no responsibility/interest in investigating these multi-million dollar scamming of Australians who use your service. This must be addressed as soon as possible.
Just had a call from this number. 'This is Nicole from the Australian National Broadband Network network. You are about to be disconnected as the National Broadband Network is now in your area (this part is a lie). Press 1 to speak to a technician.
Collectvely as a country we must do something to stop these rubbish calls.

From this number.
The automated voice said it was broadband network then transferred to indian bloke who mumbled and hung up.
I regularly receive calls from this number, at least twice weekly and, when I answer they just hang up. I now have decided to hang up straight away and there is never a message left.
This number calls our business several times a day saying our National Broadband Network will be getting disconnected & is running on the old version. They can hardly speak English, some hard to understand. I keep saying we have already had a Telstra technician out & it is working fine. I no longer give them a chance to talk as they keep trying to convince they are Telstra. I keep saying I will call you back directly then, and then they hang up. We have been scammed once before with these guy's getting access into our computer through team viewer then being able to access our Business bank account. Luckily the money they stole we got returned. These guy's are becoming very annoying, trying to find a way to stop the calls. Do not believe a word they say.....
