    Scam call pretending to be Telstra. My phone flagged it as suspicious so I didn't answer. They left a poorly written text regarding a purchase I wanted to make with Telstra Plus points 5 days ago where I discussed the details via chat. The issue was resolved via chat and confirmed via emails over the last few days. There's no way it would take 5 days for Telstra to phone me regarding this issue and leave a message saying "please answer the call". It seems scammers have infiltrated the Telstra chat function and are able to access private information which they then use to attempt to scam people.

    It’s a Telstra number. They kept phoning me every day for several months sometimes 5 calls per day. It was deliberate criminal harassment. It made me ill and tio useless to help resolve.

    It’s a Telstra number, called about complaint. Not a scam.

    I had a message on email that Telstra would get back to me regarding a complaint. I never made any complaint. Got a call from this number missed the call but left message. Call back tape said they will call back later.

    This is NOT a SPAM number and it is INCORRECT for this service to give it a 65% SPAM Score. This is Telstra calling regarding consumer instigated issues. In my case, a Telstra Plus Rewards purchase hadn't arrived. I logged the issue. They called back on this number to help me solve it. They are not calling to sell you anything.

    It might be legit because I have a complaint pending at Telstra. They wanted me to enter my bank account card and PIN number as verification at which point I told them to piss off. They seemed knowledgeable about my issue and had some of my personal info and the change I wanted to make - but there is no reason why I needed to enter my banking details at any point.

    This is a legitimate call from Telstra dealing with a delivery issue. They didn't ask for any of my details but provided details of my delivery issue to me in order to close the matter.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
