This call came from an overseas call center attempting to schedule appointments for NBN installations. While it seems suspicious and gives off a scam vibe, I have confirmed that the number is legitimate, as I receive calls from them regularly.
This number is being used by scammers. Legitimate representatives from the NBN (National Broadband Network) are located in Australia, not in India. If you receive a call from an overseas number claiming to be from the NBN, it is best to hang up and contact the official Australian NBN number for verification.
This call was a legitimate one from NBN services, as they were helping me resolve an issue with my NBN connection.

I never called the number, called number provided by my Optus message & via my account on App.
Within a week I started getting a call from a lady saying that my provider requested I call regarding problems with my National Broadband Network reconnection. Phone number 02 9368 3253. Information my Optus National Broadband Network concierge who checked notes & said no one else has been told to contact me & to block number immediately as scammer.
This is second time that I have been targeted after setting up & then moving address with National Broadband Network. The first time they knew a lot of my information already including the Job Number for the ordering of National Broadband Network. Obviously someone is selling private information triggered when an National Broadband Network box is ordered and/or installation is booked.... Why is there not more reports of this, or something being done about it???
Would be interested to know if a pattern occurs based on which company you are with (for eg Optus) & who install or National Broadband Network box order is done with/through????
Scammers pretending to be the National Broadband Network!!! My ISP and the National Broadband Network confirmed. Somehow they knew my appointment time for my National Broadband Network installation. I’ve reported this to my ISP, really not happy this information was leaked! DOn't give them any personal details and DOn't give them access to your computer or laptop!! After the first phone call where I stupidly gave them my address thinking it was legitimate they kept trying to call me 3x a day leaving me messages. A sub contractor will be installing your National Broadband Network not the actual National Broadband Network! Expect a call from a sub contractor to confirm your appointment, not this place! My appointment has passed now and since then I haven’t received anymore calls.

Fake posing as National Broadband Network. (Female Indian) Caller pauses waiting for target to offer info that could reveal time set by ISP for installation. This could be part of a wider home invasion robbery network. People answering calls should never offer any indication or additional info to random calls. This phone number and the network using this number should be investigated by AFP for organised criminal potential home invasion strategists in addition to attempted cyber crime via remote access.
They called claiming to be National Broadband Network seeking personal information. I check with my ISP and identified this as a scam with no record of the number related to the National Broadband Network. Be careful.
Called claiming to be National Broadband Network at 8pm twice - yeah sure (I let it go to voicemail). Apparently my service provider is magically ASUS (never knew... Wow, not only do they make modems and PC hardware, but are an ISP too? BoNuS!) ... yeah, this ones a scam guys - didn’t even have to answer the call.
