What to Know About 02 9293 7600

In today's world, knowing the origins of phone calls you receive is crucial for avoiding scams and spam. The phone number 02 9293 7600 has sparked attention among users, with mixed responses regarding its credibility. Some claim it is a legitimate call from eBay Merchant Support, while others report it as a suspicious or spammy number. Let’s delve deeper into this phone number to understand its classification.

Classification of 02 9293 7600

Based on user feedback, we can categorize 02 9293 7600 into two main classifications: Legitimate and Suspicious.

  • Legit: Several users confirm that this number is indeed associated with eBay, particularly connected to their Merchant Support and Authenticity Guaranteed teams. They reported receiving calls following actions taken on their eBay accounts, such as leaving feedback or needing assistance.
  • Suspicious: Conversely, a subset of users deemed the number suspicious, noting that it did not leave voicemails, consistently redirected to audio messages, or appeared unrecognised. This response warrants caution for those unsure about the nature of unsolicited calls.

Understanding the Conflicting Reports

The divergence in experiences is significant. Users who received follow-up communication, such as emails from eBay following the calls, validated their interactions as genuine. Specifically, reports from April 2023 highlight a pattern of reassurance among those who questioned the legitimacy of the call, suggesting they were indeed dealing with official eBay representatives.

However, those who didn't pick up or recognised the number chose to block it as a precaution. This brings an essential aspect of call handling into focus: if in doubt, let it ring. Legitimate organisations typically follow up through email if they truly need to get in touch.

How to Safeguard Yourself

If you receive a call from 02 9293 7600 and are uncertain, it’s advisable to:

  • Let the call go to voicemail if you do not recognise the number.
  • Check your email for any notifications from eBay. Most legitimate organisations will send you an email in the event of a call.
  • Use a Reverse Phone Lookup Australia service to confirm the sender’s identity.
  • If you suspect it might be suspicious, you can block the number to avoid future calls.

Ultimately, while 02 9293 7600 appears to be a legitimate number associated with eBay, varying perceptions mean that exercising caution is always wise. For those wishing to avoid pitfalls surrounding unidentified callers, incorporating methods such as using Reverseau's resources—like 'Who Called Me Australia'—can be incredibly beneficial.

This is a genuine call from eBay's authentication service. If you receive this call, it is to verify your account or transactions.

I missed a call from this number, but shortly after, I received an email from them. I wanted to check for any additional information before potentially returning the call. After my research, I confirmed that this is a legitimate number.

Whoever said it's scam call are bunch of idiots.

It's from the legit eBay call. If you don't trust them, ask them to send a message and you should receive that on both your email and the eBay message, you can then response from there.

This call was from eBay regarding the authenticity guarantee program. While I believe the call is legitimate, I prefer to ask them to send me an email for verification to ensure it is actually from eBay.

I can confirm that this number is indeed from eBay Merchant Support. I received a call after leaving a negative review for a promotion I attempted to use on eBay, which is why they reached out to me today.

Definitely a scam call. Reported to be from E-bay also. Do not call them back under any circumstances.

K

Didn't answer - received a voicemail that consisted of 1 minute and a half of breathing and Netflix in the background.

Was flagged as a scam call so I assume it to be as much.

I've put this down to a scam call. They pretend to be from eBay.

I answered the call but I didn't speak. I waited for them to speak.

But because I didn't speak first, they said nothing. They knew I was onto them, so they just hung up.

I guess the cold call was going to be much work for the little insects, so they just hung up. :-(.

I have had other calls from similar numbers, and they pretend to be from eBay.

They are very 'good at their con' and they had me believing for 24 hours.

eBay will only contact you, through your eBay message folder, once you are logged into eBay.

eBay will not call you by phone, or send emails exclusively to your very own personal external email addresses.

If the eBay email is not in your actual 'eBay' inbox, once you are actually logged into eBay.

Then the emails you receive on the side, or cold call phone calls from eBay. Are from a clever scam group.

Don't speak to them, or give them a single bit of info.

MAJOR FRAUD!

7:47PM.

Had a recorded message left from this number at 5.17pm of a male breathing heavily for 1min 55sec. Called the number back & goes to eBay support so likely a scam by some creeps. Obviously some scammer who has worked out how to redirect his number.
