Got cal from this number which is very close to the official AMEX number. The caller identified suspicious activity on my card and knew my full card number. The caller then wanted to cancel my card and issue new card. Sounded legit but I sensed scam. The caller suggested I Google the number which showed this site. So I hung up and called AMEX direct who reassured me all OK. I don't know what the caller actually sought to gain as I didn't get that far. Many thanks to those above who posted this dodgy scam.
This number called me about possible unauthorised use of my card. They rattled off my card number, which made me uneasy. They even said to look it up, and guess what? Seems like others have flagged it as a scam. I wisely hung up and contacted AMEX directly. Thanks for the heads up, everyone!

Spot on I just had the same thing, they seemed really fishy so I said I'd call AMEX and check and he's like you don't need to we are Google the number etc.

Called me over 30 times & tried to block me from calling out to the legitimate AMEX company to cancel my compromised card. They had all my card details & tried to tell me that someone was tryring to use my card overseas. Very convincing & very scary.
