    Wanted to confirm details with me so that he could cancel an order for an iPhone12 he claimed had been made on my account. Hung up when I asked why I shouldn’t rather look on my account or talk to my bank.

    I also received a call from this number which my iPhone blocked. My husband received a call from that same number yesterday reportedly from Amazon. My husband has never ever used Amazon or had such an account. Use truecaller and have number blocked.

    SCAM automated call from supposedly Amazon saying they were going to auto deduct $79 for me to auto join Amazon Prime and IF I did not want to go ahead to press 1 to talk to their service manager. This is really worring as I have only just starting Amazon.com. Au to purchase an item after about 2 years of inactivity. Maybe Amazon has a "leak" in their staff or contractors??????

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
