What Our Users Reviewed
The caller knew my full name and asked if I was the homeowner. This raises concerns about privacy and potential scam activity.
Missed call & tried calling back a few times 02 9188 3402 and it is unavailable.
The influx of scam calls has become unbearable, and I believe the Australian Government should take responsibility for this issue. It might be worth forwarding our frustrations about these calls to local politicians. A word of caution: do not call back missed calls from unrecognized numbers, as you may incur charges to find out the number is fake.
I received a phone call from this number at 5:06 PM on May 9th, 2023, and again at 4:22 PM on May 11th, 2023. Both times, no message was left on my voicemail.
This number called me late in the evening, and I strongly believe it is a scam.
This number called me today.20/4/2020 and hung up instantly. I rang back and got the usual “hi we are offering a solar energy panel government rebate blah blah blah.
I asked for their company name. “Amanda” said they were calling from Green Energy Solutions. I played along for a while before calling them out on their scam. They denied it before calling me stupid and hanging up.
I rang back a short time later and “Brendan” answered. I asked for his company name and he said he was calling from Power Solutions Australia.
I asked him why the other lady told me a different company name and how could two businesses be using the same number.
He said that isn’t possible and that I didn’t actually receive an earlier phonecall from the same number. So apparently I was lying or imagining the first phonecall and also magically guessed the phone number out of thin air, since he insisted that nobody from his phone number had ever even called me.
I accused him of scamming and then we got in an argument and he said to come visit him at his “commercial business” address in Randwick. I know Randwick and the address is a residential property so that’s another blatant lie.
I called a third time and got yet another person claiming to be from yet ANOTHER solar panel company. I forget the name of this one but he insisted that he was calling from a legitimate business etc and asked me how I could possibly think they were scammers when all they were offering was a solar rebate and hadn’t even asked for any money yet. Blah blah blah I told him I wasn’t born yesterday and he can burn in hell before hanging up.
Got home just now and called a couple more times. Partly for fun and partly to continue to waste as much of these assholes’ time as humanly possible.
The next few people who answered cemented my proof that these were scammers because every time I asked what company they were calling from, they all said “we are a solar panel installation company”
I replied with “yes I know, but which one specifically? What is the company name?”
They all hung up immediately when pressed for an actual business name.
Cold calling isn’t always an actual scam, but it’s best to treat them all as suspicious and hang up on them instantly. Or try to waste as much of their time as you can, if you’re into that kindof thing.
