According to user reports, the number is representing Ipsos, an internationally owned market research company—with a particular focus on conducting surveys in Australia.
Since late August 2023, numerous Australians have reported receiving calls from this number. While some users have picked up and engaged in brief discussions regarding surveys, many others have expressed their frustration, noting repeated calls ceaselessly without any meaningful dialogue or messages left.
The Telemarketing Insight
Based on analyses of individual experiences, we can classify this number mainly as a telemarketer calling on behalf of Ipsos. Although the nature of their calls is to gather public opinion for various research projects, including those related to significant events such as the upcoming referendum in Australia, the execution seems to be leaving a negative mark.
- Password of Annoyance: Users often received multiple calls throughout the week without a voicemail, which many find exasperating.
- Recognised Call Patterns: Phones are signalling this number as a suspected fraud, actively blocking it from incoming calls.
- Satisfaction from Curiosity: A few have answered only to find themselves entangled in short conversations revolving around monotonous survey invitations.
Scam or Legitimate Research?
While Ipsos is indeed a legitimate researching entity, the persistent calls and their nature often lead many to dub the outreach as suspicious or akin to a scam. Such weariness stems from callers who do not leave messages and induce curiosity but hardly legitimate engagements.
