Scam. Ignore!
Answered the call and there was a delay in a response. They asked for me by name and then stated they were calling because my PayPal account had activity sending $700 to the United States. I asked again where they were calling from and they told me ‘PayPal’. I knew it was a scam so I informed them that I didn’t have a PayPal account so asked where they got my number from and where this information about money transfer was coming from. They went silent for a good minute before hanging up. Checked my PayPal account and there were no such charges nor was there a card attached that could have money taken out of it. Tried to call back and the number is disconnected.
0291296797 called me, telling me that my microsoft account has been hacked, when I told them that they were probably scammers, they went silence. Tried to call back, not ringing. Be careful they are after your personal information!
The caller claimed to be from MasterCard, stating there was suspicious activity reported on my card for a $1200 medical donation made via PayPal. When I inquired about which of my MasterCards was affected, the caller became defensive and could not identify the business linked to the charge. He even urged me to stop driving and pull over to check my bank details, which raised red flags for me.
Called, did not know number so did not answer. They did not leave a voice message. Looking at search history above, I can only assume that this number is either a telemarketing number or possible scammer.
