    I've received these voicemail messages multiple times on my landline number but haven't taken the bait. Some of the messages request to callback 02 9119 2916 and others request to callback 02 6064 2017. Don't be fooled by these threatened calls!

    Yeah just got a call from this number, definitely not the first time. The first time they called, I was home alone and had no idea what to do so I called the number they provided only to find out that it was a scam, they pressured me to go to my local post office and pay the amount requested to avoid going to court. They told me to be on the phone to them while I drive down to the local post office and pay the amount and let them know once it has been paid. Luckily the guy at the post office told me that this is a scam and I should hang up the call and report it to the police which is exactly what I did. Please be careful with these sort of calls, please report to scamwatch asap. Luckily I recorded the voice message that came through today for any evidence. Stay safe.

    Received 2 calls over the last 2 weeks on the answering machine stating that a case is registered against me. Asking me or my lawyer to call the number before the local police arrest me. I called the number back, he just kept saying Taxation Department. What a joke!!!

    Found this call yesterday on our home phone, requesting that myself or my lawyer call this number before the local police come and arrest me and the case is registered with the courts. Googled this number, what a pack of scam artists! Feel sorry for vulnerable older people that may answer this call!

    Got the same message as everyone else saying I'm going to be arrested. I could obviously tell it's a scam as if they'll leave that message on an answering machine.

    Says its the Tax Office and I'm to phone this number immediately or else they'll come and arrest me for tax fraud. What tossers! As if the ATO would leave a message like that if I'd committed tax fraud.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
