I got a call from a guy with african type accent. Said my account has been been hacked.
Ok, so it’s Sunday, and a public holiday, and at a time when some people are still sleeping, so for a MOMENT, I thought this was legit. However, male did not introduce himself, nor say where he was calling from, instead stating “we have what we believe to be fraudulent activity on your account. We need you to login and we will talk you through it over the phone”
I then said “oh really, which account are you calling about?” To which he replied “your crypto, I need you to tell me your account number” (I thought here we go, you just called me to tell me my account has some fraudulent activity, and you don’t know my account number) and also asked for my password. I said I’m not sharing my account details with you, if you believe there’s some suspicious activity, put my account on hold and I will deal with it later.
He then starting screaming at me “listen to me now bitch, you have to do exactly what I say …. “
And I then hung up on him.
