What Our Users Reviewed
This morning 5/8/16 I got a call and voicemail from this number claiming to be the ATO. Unfortunately I became victim to their scam because I do owe money to the ATO but I have lost $3000. There were 3 different people I talked to and they were all Indian. They threatened me with legal action.
Caller said registered letters had been returned, that I was avoiding tax and that there was a warrant for my arrest. Clearly fake as all my dealings with the ATO has shown them to be very fair and reasonable.
Scam call from this number - threatens arrest because calls have not been taken and registered letters have not been attended to.
A person from this number left a message about tax avoidance and a notice of arrest. I rang them back and stated that I believed they had the wrong person. The person on the phone (with an Asian accent) then asked for my Tax File Number and when I refused to give it out they hung up.
