Had a call from this number, it was an automated message telling me it was the ATO and something about tax fraud.

I called the number, and some guy answered, so I said I had spoke to the actual tax office, and they have told me this number is fake and that you are a scam... His reply was the tax office were liars, and that the number for the tax office is incorrect and that I owe them lots of money, I was like you don't even have my name yet... So it put me on hold so I hung up, tried to call back and he has blocked my number lol.

Scam.

When they asked me my name and I said "senior constable..." they hung up before I could even say my first name.

Called back and said the line cut out, again asked my name, this time I said Senior Detective Mark...

And again hung up.

I too got a call/recorded message from someone claiming to be from the tax office and calling about tax fraud. It did not sound at all legitimate but the message was quite threatening and would scare some people I imagine.

G

Got a call from this number claiming to be the ATO and they are investigating a tax fraud! It was an automated message.. Definitely dodgy, don't call them back!

B

Left an automated message on my phone, did not state what company they were from, nor did they leave a name. Also did not state who they were calling for and that I was not to ignore the message and to call back.

Definitely spam if they cannot leave their name or the company name or my name for that matter.

Fraud 100% - two automated calls saying my house is under surveillance. I haven't done my tax and I have it done via an accountant. I live in a small town and no one is watching me unless they are invisible. Had a missed call from this number, called it back to which I said "I had a missed call from this number". He replied "Ahh yes I see you have a active investigation filed by the ATO, do you have a layer" at which point I hung up.

How did he know who I was with a private number and no name?

Definitely a fraudulent call.

I received a call from this guy saying this was a recording from the ATO with regard to tax fraud. Sounded suspect so I hung up.

B

Left a message saying to call back, not to disregard this message and to be sure to call back. The guy may have said a company name at the beginning of the call but if so, it was not understandable. He never said who he was calling for not purpose of the call. I suspect it may be a 'spam' call. (Message received between 11am - 11:30am on 18/817).
