I got a text message claiming to be from “Commbank,” alerting me about a $900 charge on Airbnb and asked me to call a specific number if I didn’t authorize it. However, I do not have any Commbank accounts, nor am I linked to the number that received the message, so I advise against calling the number provided.
I was sent a text message requesting confirmation of an $800 AIRBNB purchase through Commonwealth Bank. The message instructed me to call this number if I did not authorize the transaction. This is clearly an attempt at scamming me. I recommend blocking the number immediately to prevent any further contact.
