    Saying they wanted to confirm a $200 payment on a eBay purchase. It is definitely a scam so I hung up. It’s all rubbish.

    Sounds dodgy this is the phone number that came up but he said that was the main office number & told me if I wish to call back call (02) 8023 8308. Needless to say we never called back.

    This was actually Microsoft, I spoke with them and it's the same people I've been dealing with for some time from the Microsoft Dynamics365 team.

    Repeat calls from this number, insisting to talk to us about our Microsoft licence as it comes to an end. I told him that we got IT to look after this so we don't need advise and he just hung up. Then call us again a couple days later... Same conversation repeat. Annoying as he has a fish memory.

    Rang from this number claiming to be from Microsoft "about our licenses". I asked for a number to return the call, was given (03) 9115 7338. I asked what part of Melbourne he was in, he said he would look it up. He then said "North Sydney". I asked if that was "North Sydney, Melbourne" and he said yes. When I said North Sydney was not in Melbourne he hung up on me. SCAM. Respond at your own risk.

    Repeat calls from this number (we've had 5 calls in 2 days) leaving a long voicemail of several minutes, with no actual message. Occasionally can hear someone breathing/sniffing. Makes me think they are staying on the line to waste time and appear productive.

    Got a call from "Ski" claiming to be from microsoft and that our license was expiring. I asked if I could call them back, tried to leave me with a number but I said I would just Google the microsoft number. Ski was annoyed by that. I mentioned that the best way to make sure something isn't a scam is to Google the number instead of calling back on the number they provide.

    +61290512533 & +61391157344.

    Scam call centre operating in India. Spoofed Caller ID. Purporting to be Microsoft. Very sophisticated scam. Highly convincing. But not convincing enough. Microsoft NEVER cold call customers.

    Do not disclose or 'confirm' any personal or financial details. Do not give details of your IP address or download any software or allow remote access to your devices.

    Do not answer any calls or return any missed calls from these scammers.

    The caller checked out. He sent me an email from @microsoft. Com address. This is not to say that a call you receive from this number is not a scammer who is mimicking the Microsoft number but this time, the caller from 9051 2533 was in fact a legit Microsoft Licensing analyst.

    Caller said they were from Microsoft and that they wanted to know our budget for licensing for 2022. I asked her to send an email and she quoted an email address I hardly use. No email came through. Microsoft don't ever cold call and ask for a budget. I googled the phone number and got this site. This site is a great service thanks.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
