    The caller sounded like they were actually talking with me, then I started noticing their responses were the same “that’s fantastic” even when I didn’t answer the question. So I hung up.

    They are calling, insisting EVERY SINGLE DAY! Fed up of these people. My lane telephone is for emergencies, not for people calling all the time wasting mine.

    Calling from charity organisation doing a survey which then asks you to confirm your full address, which they already have in their system. I hung up and blocked number.

    Just had a call from them, they hung up after a second or so without me answering. I'm in Victoria.

    Random hang up number. Called my business, I answered and there was a brief pause before the call was terminated on the other end.

    Annoying more than anything.

    Probably scammers spoofing a number.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
