Called me multiple times but no message on voicemail (aside from keyboard tapping). If this is a legit business call, why not leave voicemail? Therefore I consider as scam.
Have been called about three times by this number in the last few weeks. I did not answer and they did not leave a message. When I called back there was a recorded message saying they were Vodafone with a new offer. I have blocked the number.
Said they were from vodaphone and caling about a plan that was being updated. I'm not updating a plan. They wanted my details to verify I was the account number. I asked them to send me anything important by email. No email has come through.
Cold called and asked me to confirm my address to offer a better deal on my internet connection and repeatedly asked me to confirm my address when I stated the address on file hasn’t changed for over 10 years.. Not sure if it was a scam call but it sounded sus af.
Said they were vodafone and had a great offer. Once I told them if I wanted an update I would ring and to stop they hung up on me.. Would assume if this was vodafone that's not the best customer service lol.
Answered and heard a ringing sound as if it was connecting the call with someone else, then a hello in a possibly Indian accent. Dropped the call after that. The ringing is too suss. Call centres hear that but not the person being dialled.
Purports to be a call from Vodafone with a new offer for existing customers. Sub-continent accent. Don't trust this kind of call even though I am a Vodafone customer and the number is listed on a Vodafone website. If they want to deal with me about my phone service write to me and I might believe it.
I answered and there was silence before a ring tone then an Indian mans said “hi this is Vodafone”. I hung up immediately, must be a scam as it has all the hallmarks!
Picked up, time delay, then it sounded like a dial tone connecting to an operator. Someone indicated they were calling from Vodafone. "Hi this is X calling from Vodafone, how are you today." Didn't seem legit. I hung up.
Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.
Call or message may be a scam if:
You're asked for personal information or money;
Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
The caller wants to access and control your computer.
To protect yourself:
Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
Do not send any money.
Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
