    Claiming to be Vodafone and that my service will be cut off... I’m not with Vodafone so it’s clearly a scam to get personal identification details or money!!!

    Was on the online chat for Vodafone - was not happy to start a chat I had to give my phone number. Then the chat people kept passing me on and on and then disconnected. Suddenly two missed calls within seconds from this number in NSW yet a text message came from a different number entirely Finishes my plan of doing anything with Vodafone as I can’t tell what legit or not.

    Call claiming to be Vodafone saying my mobile connection is due to be terminated, etc, etc. A definite scam as I do not even have a Vodafone service.

    Chinese guy said he is from vodafone care and said I received lots of complaints on another number registered under my name but I didn't have any other number. I only given my name but I think it should be a scam so I said I need to check and hung up the call.

    Don't trust it. I don't have a Vodafone mobile plan and haven't had one for over 5 years. Even if it was Vodafone, my number was never registered as point of contact for calls from Vodafone. Incredibly suspicious, definitely a scam.

    I just got the same call offering half price for 4 months and it sounds like it was the same lady as I had to ask her to repeat what she was saying several times. I almost gave in but luckily I guickly googled the number. I told her if Vodafone wants to give me a discount, they can just give it to me, don't need my permission. Who would say no to a discount?

    Don't speak English well... Think this number is a front for Vodafone's Asian call centre. Kept trying to convince me I don't need international minutes as I should use Whats App, Skype etc. Would NOT accept inappropriate for my 85 year old relatives. Pathetic and ridiculous constant harassment.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
