As far as I know the bank will not going to call you, they will send you SMS about transaction you made if big amount but I did not tell her that.

I received an email from somebody claimed to be HSBC Fraud Prevention Team saying that my credit card has been temporarily blocked due to suspcted unauthorised activities, and asked me to call (61) 2 9005 8525. I went direct to HSBC chat team through a known to be genuine site. The chat team confirmed this number to be a genuine number used by their HSBC Fraud Prevention Team. The chat team then gave me two other known to be good HSBC numbers to check on the status on my credit card. When I called those two provided numbers they also confirmed the genuine nature of this number in question. Indeed my credit card was temporarily blocked. Then I cleared the issue that caused my card to be blocked. It seems that HSBC has been very cautious about overseas transactions so has blocked an overseas transaction which happened to be genuine. In conclusion, even though I did not call (61) 2 90058525 direct but should anyone receive a letter claiming to be from HSBC saying that a credit card has been blocked and asking to call this number, do not assume that the letter must be a scam. It could be a ligit notice from HSBC. The best way is to call a known to be good HSBC number and check on the account.
