    Said he was from National Broadband Network saying that there had been reports of phone lines dropping out and internet problems in our area. Gave him my name so his team could call me back later. Just blocked them on my phone.

    Constantly harassing about electricity comparisons. I mean they call 2-3 a week. Then when you say your busy or not interested they persist. It’s extremely aggravating.

    When I asked how his number is appearing to be from Australian number (0289986528)he couldn't answer me how. Also he wouldn't tell me his website address. He would only say "energy saver". He has very British accent let all be known. At the end he swore at me and bombarded me with repeat calls.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
