Scammers claiming they're from Vodafone and will give me a discount for being a loyal customer. Asked for PIN and my DOB. I asked them to send me an SMS or email so I can be ensure it's a genuine call, they got a bit confused and lost and didn't know what to say next. I said that was not going to work and they hung up. Definitely scam.
02 8988 7612 called me on my phone pretending to be Vodafone. They asked for my PIN to verify I was the owner of the account, then asked me to read out a code that Vodafone texted me.
The text said "Vodafone will never ask you to provide this code" so I queried why she was asking for the code if she was really from Vodafone. She said "Because I am applying a discount from my end". Which makes no sense, and I said as much, so she hung up on me. Called vodafone and they confirmed it is a common scam that is going around, trying to get access to your phone account...
Left a blank voicemail - for about 5 seconds - maybe checking if a live number.
