Got a couple of missed calls from this number. Turns out it’s linked to the Apple Store. I had a dodgy text about an order earlier, which I thought was rubbish since I’m not an Apple user. But guess what? My money's vanished! Some thief hacked my bank account... I rang this number back, and they sent me off to call 133622. Thankfully, the lady there sorted me out and cancelled the order, but talk about a close call!
Initially thought to be a scam call, but it was a legitimate call from Apple. They informed me that there was an unauthorized attempt to make a purchase using my credit card and recommended that I contact my credit card provider to cancel it for security purposes. Moments later, I noticed the unauthorized transactions on my account.
This number claimed to be from the Apple store in Sydney, NSW. They called several times to verify my online iPhone purchase, asking for sensitive information including my name, address, card expiry date, and the type of card I used. On the fourth attempt, I answered, and after some confusion, the transaction was clarified and confirmed as genuine, but it felt suspicious.
