    Called today from 0288970818, I answered in my car on blue tooth, as I was driving.

    When I asked, how they got my phone number.

    I was told to shut up and then immediately hung up.

    I had 2 toddler children in the car, who also heard this.

    Disgusting!

    When I tried to call back, the number didn't work.

    Just got a call from said number, she said she was from (from what I understood it sounded like) 'Azita company' and there was a lot of noise in the background, like a call centre noise. Told her I couldn't understand her and she hung up. Like others I tried ringing the number back and it dropped out before the first ring. How bloody rude hey, at least I answered when she rang me. lol.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
