What Our Users Reviewed
I just received a message on my home phone from Jason O'Connor who said he was from the ATO. The message did not say who he was calling about but said "A file had been lodged against your name for TAX EVASION and a police officer from your State will be at your home within 24 hours with a Warrant for your arrest. It is in your best interest to call Jason O'Connor on 02 8880 0284". When I called the number back, a message said "The number you are calling has been disconnected. Please check the number and try again". It clearly seems to be some sort of a SCAM!
Scam. Jason O'Connor (strong Filipino accent) from ATO calling to say there is a warrant out for my arrest due to tax evasion. Said the local police would be coming to get me shortly. That I need to settle the payment with them. Load of crap.
I just rang them the person who I spoke to had a very strong Indian accent. He told me that I was going the have a warrant issued for my arrest in the next 24 hours for outstanding amount.
He could tell me my name, address, phone number but not my tax file number due to privacy laws.
Yet a another scam again.
I have also received two calls from this number from "Jason O'Connor" (with a very heavy accent) informing me it was about a tax evasion court case and that local police would arrest my husband. Clearly a scam of some sort.
Caller states they are from the ATO and I am being investigated for tax evasion and there is a warrant out for my arrest????
When I rang them back the "supervisor" hung up on me when I said I wanted to report a spam call.
