In my experience, ignoring this caller is effective; they are unscrupulous individuals who buy up debts from various financial entities. You owe them nothing, as they acquire the debt without a direct contract with you. They are unlikely to pursue legal action, as their practices may be fraudulent and easily exposed.
The caller asked for my husband but refused to specify the purpose of the call. They provided this phone number along with another, but wouldn’t reveal their name or the company they represent.
This caller identifies as a debt collector. Even though I have an established payment arrangement, they continue to call multiple times a day and leave strange voicemails asking how I would rate the call on a scale of 1 to 10, or featuring a squeaky female voice repeatedly saying "hello."

A lady called my partner asking about a friend of ours. Neither of them has each other's phone numbers. They left a voicemail that was difficult to understand, mentioning something about Global Ink or similar.
This number rang and a male asked if someone with a similar name to ours was there I said name was close but not the same what was in relation to but he refused to say and demanded our names and address which we refused to give him I asked what company he was from and he refused to answer nor would he tell me his name. I think the people at this number are fishing for information to gain your personal id and I told him that's what I thought he was doing and he hung up.
